As creepier as it gets
A rustling sound was heard from a bush near him. There was almost nothing visible since the forest was too dense and Alex had to use a flash light to find his way in the forest. Gathering enough guts, Alex took a step forward towards the bush holding a flash light in his right hand and sharp stick that he had broken from a tree a while ago in his right hand. The rustling sound becomes louder and louder as he moved closer to the bush. Suddenly he heard a cry a few yards away. Distracted by that cry, Alex started running towards it. As he took a few steps towards the cry, it stopped and a nasty sense of creepiness entered his mind. He turned back and shone his flashlight behind only to see an inhuman and fiendish figure that he wished he hadn’t seen. It was a vampire, a real one almost eight feet tall with a grumpy face, two teeth sticking out of its mouth and dressed in the traditional vampire fashion. Horrified, Alex ran fast as he could before he crashed into something solid and transparent. It seemed like an invisible barrier and he couldn’t pass through it. He looked around himself only to observe a horrific silence around him. Trapped and scared to hell, he then realised that the vampire had given up on him. He sighed heavily and decided to find a way out of that place. He had hardly taken a few steps, a herd of unicorns appeared before him. He stood there awestruck by their beauty for few minutes before they vanished the same way they appeared. He came back to his senses and started moving. He just couldn’t remember how he got there in the first place no matter how hard he tried. He kept walking slowly till he reached a denser part of the forest. Something in his head told him to keep going. He broke two sticks from a nearby tree and with the help of the two sticks he started clearing a way for himself as he reached the end of the path and saw a humongous castle in front of him. Light glowed from one of the rooms of the castle. Reluctantly, he entered the castle through the draw-bridge. The castle was quite big and well lit showing there are occupants inside. Alex gave out a cry of horror as he saw a severed human head hanging on the chandelier in the hall he entered. The human head was hanging on the chandelier and blood was dripping from the head on the floor. He rushed back to the entrance only to find it closed. No matter how hard he tried, the door would not budge. With no options left, he decided to probe the castle to find a way out. He climbed up the stairs with hands on the wall and his eyes fixed on the severed head as he reached the next floor. It was unusually quiet except for the same eerie sound he heard back in the forest coming from one of the two rooms in that floor. He moved slowly towards the room where the sound was coming from. His head to toe shaking with fear, he opened the door with his trembling hand. The room was pretty empty but it seemed like it was occupied recently since the room was clean and whoever slept in the bed woke up just sometime back as a crumpled bedsheet was lying on the floor near the bed. The eerie sound was caused by the wind flowing through the window holes which seemed to have been drilled to fit a pair of eyes. Whoever the occupant of the castle is, definitely wanted to keep an eye out for people entering his castle. With nothing left to investigate in that room, Alex came out locking that door gently. There was another little room. As soon as he opened the door, a swarm of bats flew past his face leaving him with multiple scars and big one in his left elbow. He gathered all his courage and entered into the room. The room was pretty empty except for a little statue near the window. He moved near it to explore. Alex let out a gasp of horror as the statue moved but before he could scream, his head was severed by the pike of the statue which was actually a Redcap*.
Alex woke up with a jerk. He was safe and sound in his bedroom. It was only a nightmare, he said to himself. Feeling pain in his left elbow, Alex glanced at his left elbow only to see a big scar there.
